What to Do in Abbeville?

Thinking of visiting Historic Abbeville, South Carolina? Great call! The City of Abbeville is a quaint, charming town filled with historical architecture, much of which dates back to the Civil War. Downtown Abbeville, known locally as the Abbeville Square, is also made up of historic structures and is home to many shops, boutiques, restaurants, The Belmont Inn, and of course the Abbeville Opera House, South Carolina's Official State Theatre.

However, history is not all that Abbeville has to offer. Every October, the smell of BBQ fills the air as thousands gather downtown for the Hogs and Hens BBQ Festival, which features live music, craft vendors, and some of the best BBQ this side of the Mississippi. As Spring rolls in, the sights and sounds of music and carnival rides fill the night sky as visitors come from all over the Upstate to enjoy the Abbeville Spring Festival.

Within 30 miles of 4 lakes, 3 State Parks, the World Famous Diamond Hill Gem Mine, and very close to the larger metro areas of Greenville, Anderson, and Greenwood, Abbeville is the perfect place to visit or relocate to, to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy the southern hospitality only experienced in small town SC !
